I used to do something similar when I was younger. I stopped by becoming aware of when I was picking at my gums. There were times that I would do it and not even notice because it was such a habit. My desire to stop picking at my gums was so extreme that I started to catch myself when I would begin to do it. Eventually, I stopped all together. It didn't take long, but just know that awareness is the biggest key. Do you have dental insurance? If so, you may want to consider scheduling a visit with your dentist. He or she may be able to give you some tips as well as a product that will help your gums heal.

Keep your self busy on some other stuffs, continuously picking on your gums is definitely a bad idea for it can affect your gums in a way. Have you seen a dentist? of not you must see one and get a consultation on what you should do about it and how to stop this habit

I've been choosing at my gum area for provided that I can keep in mind. It began in child years with my finger nails. I would clean at and stick the sides of my gum area where my tooth fulfill until they bled. It didn't even hurt-it sensed excellent. Now that I am 23, the addiction is even more intense. I can sit here for time choosing at my tooth. They don't even hemorrhage any longer. I use whatever is little, distinct, and indicated. From thumbs tacks, blades, the prongs on a hand, straws, toothpicks, claw information, I could go on permanently.
I am really concerned that my tooth will gradually begin to drop out because the gum area are starting to vanish. The strange factor about it is my tooth are relatively healthier other than that. I take proper them, sweep and get flossing them consistently, lighten up them.
I began considering these days that this was definitely a emotional issue but I've never observed of anyone else having the same issue.
I've tried to use orajel too. It doesn't perform. The prickling seamless comfort, then I experience then need to stick. I put orajel on the device and jam it into my gum area. It just seamless comfort, I don't even know how to describe it. The best way for me to try to describe is it's almost like itchiness and a continuous need to the begining.
Wish someone could help.

From what you have said, it seems that you need a professional help. Hence, I would recommend you to consider taking help of a professional cosmetic dentist to get rid of this habit.
