Eyelash Implants

Unread postby ashley2011 » Tue Jul 03, 2012 8:06 am

Considered today as a cosmetic treatment, eyelash implants is usually categorized as part of plastic surgery. This procedure uses a plug and sews technique, with the aim of providing you fuller eyelashes after several hours. The plug and sew technique is the same method used in scalp hair implants that are typically done on balding men. The procedure is usually performed while the patient is under local anesthesia. It can take as long as one to two hours.

The first step of the procedure is the taking of the graft from the scalp, usually near the nape. The surgeon plucks all the hair from the graft. He or she then trims off the excess dermis, epidermis and fat and implants them into the follicles of the upper eyelid. In order to achieve long and thick eyelashes, at least 40 to 60 hair strands are needed. Once the eyelashes have been implanted, you can instantly have and enjoy long and flirtatious eyelashes. Take note though that you are required to trim the new eyelashes from time to time because it will keep growing. This fact is what most patients would probably enjoy about the cosmetic procedure.

Deciding on whether to get eyelash implants or not depends on your desire to have longer eyelash as well as your capability to pay for the procedure. Just like other surgical procedures, it's important that you're fully aware of the possible risks of the cosmetic treatment before you finally decide. It's also essential that you get the best surgeon so you'll get the quality service you deserve.
